Fifield’s soprano sax, whistle and bagpipes, and the sensational drums and guitar of Alyn Cosker and Graeme Stephen respectively, are now joined by Mario Caribe on Acoustic and Electric Basses, taking the group out of it’s established trio format, making some of the most individual, genre-defying music to be found today.

Fraser and guitarist Graeme Stephen started playing together in Aberdeen in 1996 immediately finding their sounds and musical styles combined into an unusual and stylish mix of roots and jazz. In duo setting currently, the duo make use of several looping pedals, sampler and other effects to augment their sound and provide an atmospheric backdrop for their instruments. They play material drawn from Fraser’s four albums, plus improvisations and arrangements of some traditional material. Fraser also adds cajon into the mix.

A new 2009 partnership with the multi-instrumentalist Ali Hutton. They play originals by Fifield and innovative treatments of traditional Scottish music. The pipes feature more in this line-up than any other of Fraser's current projects and in a way it's got a bit of a 'returning to roots' feel as a result.
